Despite the economic crisis, the German electrical industry demonstrates relative strength in exports, surpassing the manufacturing sector as a whole. In the past ten years, the industry exports have doubled. This leads to a significant growth of enterprises after the economic crisis.

The export quota on all stages of production is 75 to 80 percent. There are still worldwide driving trends: growing requirements on energy efficiency, the increasingly emerging topic of electric mobility, a further increasing demand for infrastructure equipment and modern medical technology as well as other growth areas such as Embedded Software and Systems or Ambient Assisted Living / public health engineering. The emerging Asian markets offer optimal conditions for investments of German companies, as well as for the opening of German companies for Asian investments.
